Harry Hitchens - Screenwriter + Director

Harry Hitchens is a southern Royal Television Society and British Independent Film Festival award winning filmmaker. He was recently selected for BFI Network x BAFTA Crew 2021, a mentorship scheme for the next generation of the British film industry.

Harry began working life in the non-fiction world, directing his debut feature length documentary ‘BREAKTHROUGH’ - a global film looking at the obstacles to living a creative life and how to overcome them. The film shot across 3 continents and closely examined the art world from starving musicians to globally acclaimed fine artists.

Since then he's written and directed numerous commercial and narrative projects. His debut narrative feature, 'WE NEED TO KILL YOUR FATHER', is now in development with Article1 Productions.

Harry also devotes a lot of his time to activism. He is the co-founder of Ban Conversion Therapy, a campaign which works with the UK's leading LGBT and human rights organisations to bring about a comprehensive ban of the vile practice.

Harry's recent projects include films for Team GB, Comic Relief and a documentary about dementia called 'DON'T THINK TWICE', with music by Bob Dylan.

He's made documentaries and series for Channel 4, Sky1, Jacksgap and held more formal positions such as Head of UK Production for Vertical Networks developing content for Snapchat Originals. As well as his own personal projects Harry produces and directs non-fiction film internationally through his production studio, Everyday.
